Terms of Service

Welcome to IB Atlas. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the operator of IB Atlas ("IB Atlas," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the website at ibatlas.com and the services, content, and features we provide (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What IB Atlas is

IB Atlas is a study and preparation tool for students pursuing careers in investment banking and related fields. It provides practice materials, market summaries, AI-generated lessons and feedback, and networking research tools. It is an educational product. It is not a school, an employer, a recruiter, a financial advisor, or a career placement service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only make purchases with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and not share your account with others. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk for us or other users.

4. Plans, billing, and refunds

IB Atlas offers a free plan and paid plans. Current pricing is shown on our pricing page and at checkout. Paid features, limits, and plan contents may change over time; if we make a change that materially reduces what your paid plan includes, we will give you notice.

Payments are processed by Stripe, our merchant of record. Stripe handles checkout, payment processing, sales tax, and payment data. Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details.

Subscriptions. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.

One-time purchases. Some plans are one-time purchases that grant access for the period described at checkout. They do not renew automatically.

Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error or have an issue with your purchase, contact us at the email in Section 19 and we will review it in good faith.

5. Educational use only; no outcome guarantees

The Service exists to help you prepare. We make no promises about results. Using IB Atlas does not guarantee interviews, offers, internships, jobs, or any other recruiting outcome. Hiring decisions are made by employers, not by us, and depend on many factors outside anyone's control.

6. Not financial, investment, legal, or professional advice

The Service includes summaries of markets, deals, companies, and financial concepts. All of this content is provided for educational purposes only, to help you prepare for interviews and understand the industry. It is not investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or asset. Do not make investment or financial decisions based on content from the Service. If you need professional advice, consult a qualified professional.

7. AI-generated content

Most of the content in the Service, including lessons, market briefs, practice questions, interview feedback, grading, primers, and networking suggestions, is generated by artificial intelligence. When you use the mock interview and practice features, you are interacting with an AI system, not a human interviewer.

AI-generated content can be wrong. It may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, omissions, or statements that sound confident but are false. We do not review every piece of generated content. You are responsible for verifying anything important before you rely on it, especially facts you plan to repeat in a real interview and information about markets, companies, or people.

8. Information about other people

The networking features of the Service can surface information about real people, such as names, employers, titles, schools, and links to public profiles. This information is compiled from publicly available sources on the web and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. We do not verify it beyond automated checks, and the people shown have no affiliation with IB Atlas and have not endorsed the Service.

If you use this information, you agree to:

use it only for legitimate, personal networking related to your own career;
contact people respectfully and stop if they ask you to;
comply with applicable laws (including anti-spam laws) and the terms of any platform you use to reach out, such as LinkedIn or email providers;
not use it for commercial solicitation, harassment, stalking, discrimination, or any decision about a person's employment, credit, insurance, housing, or similar eligibility. The Service is not a consumer reporting agency and does not provide consumer reports.

If you are a person whose information appears in the Service and you want it corrected or removed, contact us at the email in Section 19 and we will handle your request promptly.

9. Your content

You can upload or enter content into the Service, such as your resume, profile details, practice answers, notes, and contacts (collectively, "Your Content"). You own Your Content. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and analyze Your Content, including with third-party AI providers, solely to operate and provide the Service to you.

You are responsible for Your Content. You represent that you have the rights to upload it and that it does not violate any law or anyone else's rights. Do not upload content that is unlawful or that contains other people's sensitive personal information without their permission.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

share your account or resell access to the Service;
use the Service in a way designed to run up our costs, including automated or scripted generation requests;
scrape, harvest, or bulk-export content or data from the Service, including information about other people;
probe, disrupt, or bypass security or access controls, or access data that is not yours;
reverse engineer or copy the Service or use it to build a competing product;
use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive, or harmful.

We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts engaged in any of the above.

11. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and the content we create or generate, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own recruiting preparation while these Terms are in effect. To the extent you have rights in AI output generated from your own inputs, nothing in these Terms takes those from you; you may use your practice answers, feedback, and study materials for your own personal purposes.

12. Third-party services

The Service is built on third-party infrastructure and services, including hosting, database, AI, and payment providers, and may link to external sites such as news sources and LinkedIn. We are not responsible for third-party services or their content, and your use of them may be governed by their own terms.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Service or ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email in Section 19. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 8, 14, 15, 16, and 17) survive.

14. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT (INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT) WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES (INCLUDING RECRUITING OUTCOMES), LOST DATA, OR REPUTATIONAL HARM, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, including claims arising from how you contact or use information about other people.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at the email in Section 19 and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Vermont, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will give you notice, such as by email or a notice in the Service, before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" above shows when these Terms were last updated. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
